but also to get the ultimate it would mean adding a upgrade camshaft. On your fourstoke its going to be a little different, those thumpers produce plenty of torque (pulling power) but dont deliver the punch power you would see from a twostroke engine, to get the very best later on with a bit better top end speed you would need to upgrade the exhaust to something more aftermarket or see if it can be made less restrictive. ![]() My scooter now acts like a standard 50cc ( restricted) slowish to 30mph, but then around 33mph it winds up and takes off all the way upto just shy 50mph. ![]() Now this annoyed me so much i went back and had them take out three of the 8g rollers and put in three 6g rollers. We tune the motor via a lotta things but also the rollers, my scoot came with 6g rollers installed, i had a whole need clutch and belt fitted and rollers installed but the bike shop threw in 8g rollers (derestricted bike here ) pulling away was like very very slow and took a month to get to 35mph then it would slowly creep to 42mph, any hill you came to the speed would drop and you would crawl at 15mph. if they are something like 4g - 4.5g they just could be to light. Rollers check is also a good idea, you dont know if the old owner had tinkered with these or had some lighter ones installed so weighing them will tell you a fair bit. ![]() Yes neil, i would install a new belt even if its been stood in a dry shed for a good few years, they still degrade.
